School Overview

Our History
Woodview Children's Centre, an accredited Children's Mental Health Centre, has been providing treatment services to children with major social / emotional needs and special education requirements for over 40 years. More recently, Woodview has created a broad range of services for children, youth and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It had become evident that there was a severe shortage of appropriate educational alternatives for this particular group of children. Therefore, Woodview directed its expertise and experience toward meeting that need by creating a private elementary school.

In April 2002 Woodview Children's Centre, announced plans to open a private elementary school for children with Autism. Woodview's executive director stated the school was in response to many requests from parents and other service agencies to provide an educational program focused specifically on the needs of the Autism/Asperger's Syndrome population. He also noted, "many of the young adults in our present autism programs have told us about their years of feeling isolated and overwhelmed in the regular school system".

In September of 2002 the Woodview Learning Centre opened its doors at 69 Flatt Road, Burlington. The school continues to be a huge success today.
