Eligibility
Potential ASD students must meet the following criteria:
- ages 5 to 15
- verification of the autism diagnosis and all relevant assessment information
- reasonable verbal communication skills, without severe behavioural problems
- not requiring 1 on 1 support
- an ability to be maintained in the classroom setting within the staffing resources (4 to 1) and in the presence of other students
- ability to work in a group, using the Ontario Curriculum (K to 8)
Students will be required to meet the same health standards that are required in the public education system (i.e. required immunizations, non-attendance when ill with a communicable disease).
Parents will be required to provide a complete medical history for the student, and they will be required to sign an authorization for the administration of all prescribed medications.
