Consultation and Programs
Woodview Learning Centre has engaged a number of professionals to provide specific student program support. They include an Autism Consultant, Occupational Therapist, and Physical Therapist. If other services are required, the Program Manger can make recommendations regarding private practitioners who have appropriate expertise in the field, with all costs assumed by parents.
ASD is now recognized as the most common neurological disorder and is characterized by:
- impairments in communication
- impairments in social interactions
- unique patterns of behaviours, interests and activities
- symptoms can present in a variety of combinations and develop within a continuum of severity

Each student at Woodview Learning Centre will receive:
- Initial Educational Assessment done by our Autism Consultant
- Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
- Individualized academic program designed and supervised by our Program Manager
- Daily monitoring / adjustment of programs
- Small group instruction specific to children with ASD
- Report Cards and Interviews with parents each semester
- On-going communication with parents
- Individualized behavioural plans specific to each individual / academic group
- Access to laptops and computers
- Individualized assessment and program by a CCAC Certified Occupational Therapist based upon application and need
- Individualized assessment and program by a CCAC Certified Physical Therapist based upon application and need
- Opportunities for socialization in school and after school
- Opportunities to work with Co-op students from local High Schools and Colleges
- Supervised After School Care program
- Community outings and field trips
- Olympic Day
